I just read the second comprehension question. You're right, it doesn't make sense, I'm sorry. The question is supposed to ask you: What is Sam referring to when he says something looked liked a flying squirrel? The passage is towards the end of the chapter.

I hope someone has spoken to Mary. I hope she is alright, I miss her.
